Confederation of African Canoeing (CAC)  as the Continental body in Charge of All Canoeing disciplines including  Dragon boat activities in Africa . CAC is  affiliated  to the International Canoe Federation with a memberships exceeding  30 African Countries . Canoeing is a strong member of the Olympic family .

We therefore take this opportunity to inform all our members and stakeholders that Dragon boat which is one of disciplines under ICF and CAC authority and  patronage ,  our members are free continue  to organize any Dragon boat National, Continental or International Events and Championships  under CAC and ICF.

We wish to strongly object the recent personal attacks  and propaganda on the ICF activities  and the President  and Secretary General of ICF by a certain official of  an organization know as   " International Dragon Boat Federation  IDBF"  ,  including misrepresentation of facts and peddling lies and falsehoods . We wish to inform our members that IDBF is not recognized by the International Olympic Committee .

We strongly object to the propaganda carried by IDBF  to name certain in African countries as its  members when no such  requests were made .

This is to inform you that " African CAC Continental Dragon Boat Championships will be held in Kenya in December 2009 .
