ON
26TH DEC 2009, THE Queens Baton Relay for the 19th Commonwealth
Games arrived in in Mombasa , Kenya and was received by members
of National Olympic Committee of Kenya under the Chairman Dr Kip
Keino who is also an IOC member , for presentation to the
President of the Republic of Kenya Hon Mwai Kibaki.
The Queens Baton relay was lead by Catherine Ndereba and Lucy
Kabuu former Olympic Games and Commonwealth games medallists
and was presented to the President at the Treasury Square at
11am in presence of thousands of Athletes and Citizens of
Mombasa. Arrangements for the arrival of the Queens Baton in
Mombasa were headed by Mr Seifudin Patwa ( Sec Gen of
Confederation of African Canoeing and Board member of ICF) who
was appointed by NOC Kenya ".
