Brigitte Harley wins Bronze Medal for South Africa In K1000m in the World Canoe Spirnts Championships ,  which ended today  in Halifax,Canda .

 
Uganda and Morroco enter teams in the World Freestyle Championships starting on 1st Sept in Thun ,Switzerland.
 
Liberia to host Olympic Solidarity supported Canoeing Technical Course from 24-30 August 2009 in capital city Monrovia.
 
Canoeing is announced as one of the proposed Sports in the programme of the All Africa Games(AAG)   by the Supreme Council of Sports in Africa (SCSA) . AAG are to be held in Maputo, Mozambique in 2011.
 
International Olympic Committee (IOC) announces  changes to Canoe Sprint Programme in 2012 London Olympic Games  by approving 200m sprint races  for  men and women as part of new Programme. IOC also recommends Rugby 7' and Golf as  two new Sports in the  2016 Olympic Games.
 
1st Joint Meeting between All Continental Sports federation in Africa, ANOCA,  SCSA and African Union (AU) is to be held in Maputo ,Mozambique on 6- 7 September 2009 to start preparations for the 2011 All Africa Games  to be hosted by Mozambique.
 
Provisional results released by ICF indicate that only One Africa Country South Africa has qualified for the Youth Olympic Games to be held in Singapore in 2010 in men kayak K1 category in Canoe Sprint.
